Photographs of Bishop Scott Academy and its successor, Hill Military Academy, private schools in the Portland, Or. area, dating from 1878-circa 1959. The photographs were collected by Benjamin Wood Hill (1890-1981), headmaster of Hill Military Academy from 1923-1959. Subjects include photographs of students, classes, activities, sports, and special events at Bishop Scott Academy from 1878-1901 and at Hill Military Academy at its first location at 821 NW Marshall in Portland from 1901-1931, as well as its second location at Rocky Butte from 1929-circa 1959. Includes some glass plate negatives. This collection is only partially processed.
